Zapoppin'‘Powerskiffle’ is the term which has come to define the frenetic and unique sound of Zapoppin’. Based around the harmonium, banjo and cajon, the band formed at the turn of 2007 and existed as the duo of Tom Sharpe and Luke Richards through the recording and self-release of their debut Z 1 (2007), before enlisting Sam Brettingham on box-hittin’ duties for their second album Parma Violence (2009). Zapoppin’ have shared the stage with acts as diverse as New York anti-folk legends Dufus and Alex Neilson’s short-lived free jazz duo Tight Meat.
