Written when she was just fifteen, Fenne Lily’s single Top to Toe has now been played eight million times on Spotify. Speaking to Bristol Live Magazine, she described people connecting to her music as being “the best kind of addictive” – and it’s a healthy habit she’d better get used to. Last year, she performed at London Fashion Week and she’s toured with Marlon Williams, Marika Hackman, C Duncan, Eaves and Palace among others. Proudly based in Bristol, she says “being involved in such an active, vibrant music scene has motivated me hugely. When I first moved here a year ago I instantly felt like I’d been here my whole life – it has the perfect balance of people and space”. Describing her lyrics, the now 20-year old recently told Franz magazine “I think most people would assume the songs are about heartbreak, and I guess they are to an extent, but most of them were written before I’d ever had my heart broken, so perhaps pre-empted heartbreak is more accurate!”
