“Unique vocals, keen observational skills, and top-notch songwriting. A true talent” is how Maverick described Norwich-born singer songwriter Jess Morgan. Her career began with a few home-recorded EPs and demos, and then accelerated after attention from Steve Lamacq and Tom Robinson led to the recording of her debut album All Swell in 2010. 2012’s Aye Me and 2014’s Langa Langa were both accompanied by extensive tours and the latter was described by Folk Radio as “an album that everyone with a love for gentle Americana should listen to… the emergence of a singer with a unique style for whom big things should be expected”. Morgan has cemented her place in the burgeoning folk, roots and Americana scene throughout the UK and Europe and anyone with an interest in these genres should seek out this year’s release, her fourth album Edison Gloriette.
