Perrot's Folly
Perrott's Folly is a 4-piece acoustic act from Birmingham. They are made up of Ed Aston (aka Ed Aston), Jim Lowe (aka Cribbler), Saul Hillier (aka Ebeneezer Pentweasel) and Dave Baker (aka Butcher). Originally a three-piece they have now included their long time friend and drummer of their full on spazz-jazz angry band Mills and Boon to provide the sensual battering of various skins. Jim and Saul met Ed in Derbyshire in 1997 and began improvising together with a couple of guitars and a bass they borrowed from a frightened teacher upstairs. They have each recorded their own 'solo' records. In Perrott's Folly they play some of their favourites from these records. They take their name from the Birmingham monument that J R R Tolkein may have used as his inspiration for the Tower of Orthanc, because they find the name inherently funny, especially when said high pitched and quickly, plus three of them live in its vicinity.Artist's MySpace
