STEELEYE SPAN @ moseley folk 2012..? Am i dreaming..? seams not WOW…!
BRING IT ON ….. super Sunday here we come.
One very happy easter bunny signing off……!
I was there last year: I incredibly enjoyed every single moment of the Festival.
I am planning to come back this year, and I have so many names in mind… Anyway, let’s fish out these three, in no particular order:
The Lunar Festival is completely booked and the Folk is looking mighty full but please send your details to info@moseleyfolk.co.uk We’re always looking for artists for shows
It would be really great to see First Aid Kit at the festival. Young, hugely talented, and they missed out Birmingham on their recent tour!! This must be rectified!
We are the biggest fans of these girls! Unfortunately, it’s looking unlikely but we will try to bring them to Birmingham in the future as we all want to see them!
I’ll check these guys out. We’re looking pretty full for the folk but if you know them or are in them it would be great if you could forward some details to info@moseleyfolk.co.uk
You’re a big fan of The Bees as well then. Unfortunately, we don’t like to repeat the line ups but maybe we could look at these for 2013! After all we all love The Bees!
Just returned from Beth Jeans Houghton & Hooves of Destiny at Hare and Hounds – what a storming gig and wonderful voice & songs. Hope to see her at MOFO 2012 on the main stage this time!!!
Delighted you enjoyed the gig! We’ve been fans of Beth ever since she was on the Static Caravan Label. They are an absolute joy to put on. All great people and wonderful musicians.
Hopefully we’ll be seeing them play somewhere in Birmingham in the summer
JACK BLACKMAN UK ACOUSTIC BLUES / ROOTS ARTIST.
Signed to the Folk Police label
Available for Folk for Free , Lunar Society , Festival events etc…….
Jack Blackman is regarded as one of the best and most talented acoustic blues roots artist in the UK today and is gaining a great deal of public attention across the country
Reviews of “Just A Game” released by Jack Blackman 2010
“Blues has a bright future”
Maverick October 2010

R2 Rock”n”Reel Magazine October 2010
“16 year old British guitarist has learned to play well in the style of such heroes as Gary Davis and Graham, Jansch and Renbourne.Given his age and general talent we shall, no doubt, be hearing more from the young Mr Blackman”
fRoots January 2011
Jack also has a track on the USA blues compilation release called “All Aboard the Blues” which came out in April 2010 on Errorcraft Records
“A special mention must go to UK prodigy 16-year-old Jack Blackman, with Police Dog Blues he brings a depth , maturity and texture to his music that augers well for the future and would shame many an older and more celebrated musician” Review of All Aboard the Blues Compilation
Maverick November 2010
Reviews of “River Town” released by Jack Blackman May 2011
“River Town is a remarkable record and should win legions of admirers among blues fans and fans of roots and acoustic guitar playing, showcasing, as it does , the talents of an artist about who we shall doubtless be hearing a lot more over the next few years”
Acoustic Magazine August 2011
“The album’s entirely a solo effort, with Blackman sticking to acoustic guitar throughout, and writing all but two tracks himself. The two covers are Muddy Waters’ Can’t Be Satisfied and a live version of Blind Blake’s Police Dog Blues from the Radio 2 Young Folk Awards. Blackman’s playing is lively and fluid right through the album, combining some very agile finger-picking with a percussive slap on the strings after every phrase. The two slide numbers – Whisky Grave and Can’t Be Satisfied – are particularly enjoyable.”

Hello,
Love the festival, I came last year and caught the Dirty old Folkers playing in the boho stage, they where absolutely fantastic. Both my wife and I thought they were the highlight of the weekend. Will you be booking them for the lunar or main stage this year, they would certainly liven up the crowd.
Thank you for the feedback. We are currently working on the line up as we speak so we certainly consider. We tend not to book 2 years in a row as we have an enormous about of applications.
The line will be announced around 1st March so hopefully you’ll like what you see!
I love MoFo but can i request a better selection of cold drinks from the vendors. I’m a big Fan of Vimto and Tizer, but wouldn’t be too disappointed at a Dandelion and Burdock. Please make this happen.
Ps- Michael Barrymore to compere the Saturday?????
We too are fans of the drink giants that create the wonders that are Vimto and Tizer but as a nice independent festival we source from local and independent vendors! We shall certainly put a request for a better selection though.
With regard to M.Barrymore… Stranger things have happened.
All great acts! Beirut one of our favourite bands! Not sure we’ll have any of those this year but I’m guessing by your taste in music you’re going to be a happy man when the line up is announced! sorry no clues….
We should be announcing the details for the Lunar Festival in the next week or so! Are you on the Moseley Folk mailing list? The mailing list will receive all the information first!
Hello! Do you welcome open mic at all? I recommend a brilliant brum based duo named ‘L A Invasion’ link on youtube. They are brilliant, young and would love to have a warm up spot at the festival for nowt!
How family friendly is the festival? I have two under fours, who love music, will we all be welcome?
Any chance deals could be done for the unemployed?
So many are sick of looking at turned backs…
