With their debut single ‘Fool’s Gold’ topping the UK iTunes Country Chart, British CMA ‘Duo of the Year’ and Birmingham Music Awards ‘Best Folk/Country Act’ Gasoline & Matches are proving themselves to be 2 of the Midland’s brightest rising stars.
Sally Rea Morris and Steve Marks deliver a unique blend of Fleetwood Mac-esque harmonies, Brad Paisley-infused guitar solos and energetic live performances.
Enlisting the help of experienced producer Gavin Monaghan (Editors, Robert Plant, Ryan Adams) and the more recent addition of Jamie Clayton on bass, Ben Marshall on keys & banjo and James Randle on drums for their studio & live performances, it has allowed the duo’s sound to develop and bring their songs to life.
They have already grabbed the attention of critically acclaimed Nashville songwriting legend Phil Vassar, who invited the duo to share the stage with him on his last UK tour, gaining more momentum through a string of festival appearances including sharing the main-stage alongside The Vamps, Jessie J & The Kaiser Chiefs at PetLife.
With an album in the works, this explosive duo are riding the crest of the wave of the UK’s thriving country music scene.
