Stuart Maconie

Stuart is a prolific, popular and extremely highly regarded TV and radio presenter, journalist, columnist and best-selling author. He is on BBC Radio 6 Music every weekend with Mark Radcliffe and has written a variety of books including the best-selling Pies and Prejudice, and its sort of sequel, The Pie At Night, examining the modern north. Stuart also wrote and presented the major BBC Radio 2 series The Peoples’ Songs and its accompanying book.

In 2017, he retraced the Jarrow march, in real time, to mark its 80th anniversary. The book of his walk, The Long Road from Jarrow, was published by Ebury Press. Stuart will be giving a talk about this Sunday Times Bestseller at Moseley Folk & Arts Festival.
