Once stalwarts of the radio, whose voices brought major sporting events into the nation’s living rooms, The Commentators have fallen on hard times. Now commentating on anything and everything, they say it as they see it – all the world as sport. The Commentators have brought their undying passion for words and life to a range of events including a gallery opening, the World Gurning Championship, 12 hours in the life of Broad Street, a primary school sports day, and the opening days of the Library of Birmingham.
This year they bring their very special skills back to Moseley Folk & Arts Festival for the fifth time. You can listen in live via speakers around the festival site or online via www.stanscafe.co.uk.
The Commentators are managed by the internationally acclaimed theatre company Stan’s Cafe. The company has been devising and touring highly original theatre around the world from its base in Birmingham since 1991. Recent tours have taken the company to The Public Theater (New York), Harbourfront Centre (Toronto), Adelaide Festival, Theaterfestival Basel and all over the UK.
“One of Britain’s most innovative and exciting theatre companies.”
