was another unforgettable weekend for us, as we welcomed music lovers, artists, and our community back to Moseley Park in Birmingham from 29–31 August. After months of preparation, it was incredible to see our vision come alive over three days of music, art, and celebration.
We kicked off Friday night with a brilliant opening from The Lightning Seeds and Peter Doherty, and it was a true highlight to watch The Waterboys take the stage for a triumphant headline set, filling the park with energy and joy.
Saturday was packed with spellbinding performances from BC Camplight and Father John Misty, who brought lyrical depth and emotional intensity to our main stage. Across the festival site, fans discovered magic in sets by This Is The Kit, Dug, and the debut of Barbara Nice’s Blind Date—reminding us why variety is at the heart of everything we do.
Our final day saw Doves close the festival in unforgettable fashion. From the intimate Q&A with Chris Hawkins to a career-spanning headline set, it was a moment we felt proud to host. Sunday also brought us the unique sounds of Mercury Rev, Fisherman’s Friends, and Mohammad Syfkhan, proving once again the diversity that makes our festival so special.
Beyond the music, we loved seeing our arts and community programme flourish. Poets, comedians and musicians were this year joined by a Saturday tea time gameshow hosted by Barbara Nice. Barbara’s surrealist Blind Date invited anyone ‘looking for love’ to take part. The contestants included a Goldfish, a Snowman and Kurdish heartthrob Zirak Hamed. Emma Smallman (of Drum ‘n’ Bounce’ fame) was the lucky lass who had to pick one of these fellas for a candlelit dinner by the lake.
Barbara bought a new style to our joyous annual Procession and reminded us that Moseley Folk & Arts Festival is about more than just the headline acts—it’s about community connection and fun!
Seeing tickets sell out in advance was humbling, and as the weekend came to a close, we reflected on 2025 as another milestone in our story. We left Moseley Park with full hearts, already dreaming of our 20th anniversary in 2026.
Roll on September, and here’s to another 20 years!
Love from all of us at Team Moseley Folk xxx
