3-5 Sept 2027. Moseley Park, Birmingham.

Team Moseley Folk & Arts have been a little quieter than usual over the last few weeks while we’ve been getting everything ready for our sister festival, Mostly Jazz Funk & Soul.

That doesn’t mean the music has stopped, though; we’ve still been filling the office with plenty of great tunes. Here’s what’s been on repeat recently:

Katherine Priddy – The Long Way Home

Festival favourite Katherine Priddy’s new song is part of the BBC Radio 2’s 21st Century Folk project – songs portraying the lives of their listeners. Priddy wrote this song about Hannah Lancaster, a young women who overcame a brain injury and qualified as a firefighter! Read the full article here.

Curiosity Shop – Crows

Two weeks since Curiosity Shop released their debut single, and we haven’t stopped spinning it. We can’t wait to hear what’s next from these guys!

Big Special – God Save The Pony

This was the only video Birmingham-based Big Special filmed for their last album, National Average, and we can’t get enough!

Kingfishr – The Sun Will Never Settle

We can’t stop watching the live videos from Kingfishr’s 2026 Festival season – every one getting us more excited for Friday night at Moseley Folk!

Damien Dempsey – The Mickey Dam

Taken from Dempsey’s brand new album, Holywell, he says track “gives a humorous snapshot of the harsh life of Irish navvies who had to leave the oul sod and do back breaking, incredibly dangerous work in strange lands to put food in theirs and their families’ bellies.” Listen below.

Joshua Burnside – It’s Not Going To Be OK

Burnside’s track, which shares the name of his latest album, sums up the feelings many of us share about the pressures of modern life.

Katherine Priddy – Hurricane

Our final song of the week is a little tongue-in-cheek, but with the football on, how could we not include this one? Have a listen and tell us you don’t hear “Harry Kane”..
