Coming to Moseley Folk & Arts This September

Built around a love of great songwriting, live performance and musical community, Folklore Sessions has grown from a small monthly showcase in the corner of a pub into one of the country’s leading independent promotions companies, record labels and homes for grassroots music.

Founded by songwriter Jacko Hooper, Folklore Sessions began with a simple idea: to create spaces where great artists could connect with audiences. Since then, that vision has continued to grow, with Folklore Sessions developing a reputation for championing emerging talent as well as working with established, international touring artists.

The Folklore Rooms, Brighton

In 2021, that journey led to the opening of The Folklore Rooms, an intimate venue in the heart of Brighton. The 60–70 capacity room has become the physical home of the Folklore community, hosting live music seven nights a week and providing artists with a space where their music can be experienced up close and without barriers.

At the heart of everything Folklore does is a belief in giving great artists the space, attention and audience they deserve. Whether through live shows, recorded sessions, releases or the community around The Folklore Rooms, the aim is always to celebrate music in an authentic and meaningful way.

That is why working alongside Moseley Folk & Arts Festival feels like such a natural fit, bringing together both that share a passion for live music, artist development and creating meaningful live experiences.

“We’re incredibly proud and excited to be working alongside Moseley Folk & Arts Festival to capture some incredible live video sessions from artists at the festival!

Moseley Folk has spent years creating unforgettable musical moments in Birmingham. Folklore Sessions has built its identity around capturing the magic of live music and giving artists a platform to be heard in Brighton.”

Together, we’re looking forward to bringing some of that magic beyond the festival itself – celebrating the artists, the music and the community that makes Moseley Folk so special.
